Rules & Regulations:

Patient's Rights:

  • Telephonic conversations are allowed only between 9 PM - 10 PM (Mon-Sat). Send the prescription via WhatsApp before calling. WhatsApp calls/ voice messages are strictly not allowed. Please do not reach out on sundays.
  • Diagnostic tests can be done as per the convenience/discretion of the patient. The premise of treatment is built upon the accuracy of diagnostic results.
  • Medicines prescribed are suited for the best possible therapeutic outcome, considering the cost-benefit ratio in utmost regard. Generic medicines/cheaper alternatives may or may not have the desired therapeutic efficacy.
  • Don't accept any alternative medicine other than that mentioned in the prescription from any pharmacy. In case of a query, send the prescription via WhatsApp & confirm.
  • Dosage timings are mentioned in the prescription. Pay attention during the OPD visit.
  • In case of online purchase of medicine, do not call or message to confirm the dosage. Follow the OPD prescription.
  • If the patient is a strict vegetarian and prefers medications from vegetarian sources, they should inform beforehand.

Responsibility:

A. Medical History

1. Patient & relatives should provide accurate medical history regarding:

  • Family H/O Cancer
  • Family H/O Tuberculosis
  • Cardiac Surgery (PTCA, CABG, Valvular Heart Surgery)
  • Chronic Renal Disease & Ongoing Dialysis
  • Chronic Liver Disease
  • Drug Allergy 
  • NSAID intolerance

2. Following category of patients are not suitable for MRI. Inform during visit about :

  • Pregnancy
  • Cardiac Pacemaker
  • Cochlear Implant
  • Non Titanium Metallic Implant

3. Patients with HIV , Hep B & Hep C are categorically instructed to inform about their status on the very first OPD visit with out any fail. Confidentiality will be honoured

B. Financial :

1. Patient relatives should communicate with their insurance agent regarding the surgery & probable allotment amount from the insurance company. An estimated cost of surgery will be provided if required. WBHS, CGHS category patients have to pay additional surgical team charges & implant charges as per capping.

2. For non-insurance cases, the surgical team charge & implant charge have to be paid before the commencement of surgery.

3. Surgical drapes, IOBAN & Pulse lavage system are to be paid separately.

C. Patient Care :

1. Patient / Relatives are categorically instructed to remain in close communication regarding the surgical intervention, understand the prognosis & complications, ensure proper post-operative care & rehabilitation.

2. Follow-up Protocol: From the day of surgery

Staples Removal (2-3 weeks) → 3 months → 6 months → 1 year (Once a year afterwards)

Non compliance with Follow up protocol with forfeit the right of patient to seek any medical care / complication pertaining to the surgery.

D. Realistic Expectation:

Keep in mind : Medical Science is not considered an "Absolute Science" because it deals with complex biological systems & individual variations. The prognosis, recovery & complications can vary patient to patient. Medicine doesn't fall in "One size fits all approach".

Statutory Reminder:

1. Don't consider yourself entitled due to professional, economic, or societal hierarchy. All patients, irrespective of their strata, are equal to me.

2. In the eventuality that the patient or any accompanying family member belongs to the Medical Fraternity, they should abide by the advice/instructions like all other patients. The onus of compliance falls on the patient.

3. If you wish to flaunt your knowledge, quote your reference from an internationally acclaimed medical textbook or peer-reviewed journal only. Don’t test my patience on “Google” based information.

Blacklisting :

The following actions shall lead to permanent blacklisting of the patient:

  • Violence / Threat / Insolence / Social Media Malign
  • Suspicion of malicious intent / activity
  • Fraudulent demographic / personal / medical history
  • Willful non-disclosure of Sero Positive status (HIV, HEPATITIS B/C)
  • Request for fabricated medical certificates
  • Financial misconduct
  • Non-compliance with Follow-up Protocol (Operated patients)
  • Disrespectful behaviour towards doctors/ healthcare staff
