B. Financial :
1. Patient relatives should communicate with their insurance agent regarding the surgery & probable allotment amount from the insurance company. An estimated cost of surgery will be provided if required. WBHS, CGHS category patients have to pay additional surgical team charges & implant charges as per capping.
2. For non-insurance cases, the surgical team charge & implant charge have to be paid before the commencement of surgery.
3. Surgical drapes, IOBAN & Pulse lavage system are to be paid separately.
C. Patient Care :
1. Patient / Relatives are categorically instructed to remain in close communication regarding the surgical intervention, understand the prognosis & complications, ensure proper post-operative care & rehabilitation.
2. Follow-up Protocol: From the day of surgery
Staples Removal (2-3 weeks) → 3 months → 6 months → 1 year (Once a year afterwards)
Non compliance with Follow up protocol with forfeit the right of patient to seek any medical care / complication pertaining to the surgery.
D. Realistic Expectation:
Keep in mind : Medical Science is not considered an "Absolute Science" because it deals with complex biological systems & individual variations. The prognosis, recovery & complications can vary patient to patient. Medicine doesn't fall in "One size fits all approach".
1. Don't consider yourself entitled due to professional, economic, or societal hierarchy. All patients, irrespective of their strata, are equal to me.
2. In the eventuality that the patient or any accompanying family member belongs to the Medical Fraternity, they should abide by the advice/instructions like all other patients. The onus of compliance falls on the patient.
3. If you wish to flaunt your knowledge, quote your reference from an internationally acclaimed medical textbook or peer-reviewed journal only. Don’t test my patience on “Google” based information.
